Have you always wanted to head out on a once in a lifetime adventure but never known where to start? Below I’ll be outlining the 10 best trips for adventure seekers around the globe. Trust me, after reading them, you’ll be itching to embark on an adventure of your own!

#10 Island Hopping in the Philippines

Island Hopping Philippines

The Philippines is made up of over 7000 individual islands, all of which are scattered across the mighty Pacific Ocean, benefiting from some of the clearest waters on planet Earth. With so many islands to choose from, it’s hard to know where to begin planning your island hopping adventure. No matter how you plan to spend your time here, the Philippines is bound to have an island to suit your every need and desire.

Boracay, Palawan, Siargao and Coron are some of the better known islands in the Philippines. They are all jampacked with fantastic activities and experiences, as well as a large selection of lively bars and restaurants to keep you entertained. Getting between the country’s islands is also extremely easy and straightforward, there’s an abundance of island hopping boat companies waiting to sail you across the crystal blue waters to your next destination. There’s plenty to see and across this stunning country, head out in search of tiny paradise islands, soak up the glorious sunshine aboard a private sailing boat or simply jump straight in the water to explore the vibrant reefs and brave a swim with wild whale sharks.

#9 Trekking in Norway

Norway Trekking

You’ll struggle to find two words that go more hand in hand than ‘Trekking’ and ‘Norway’. There’s an endless amount of trekking opportunities throughout this wonderful Scandinavian nation to choose from, with a variety of hikes to suit all kinds of experience levels. Trolltunga and Preikestolen are arguably the two most famous treks in Norway, offering 360 degrees of utterly mind blowing views. Both of these treks also benefit from the fact they can be completed in one day, eliminating the need to organise camping and accommodation logistics.

The vast majority of Norway’s phenomenal landscape was formed during the Ice Age, meaning the country hosts tons of jaw dropping scenery, unlike anywhere else in the world. The further North you travel in Norway, the more magnificent, yet treacherous the conditions become, especially as you begin to enter the Arctic Circle. Make sure you’re fully prepared and equipped for the routes and journeys you plan to tackle.

#8 Peru Exploring

Rainbow Mountain Peru

Peru is a country that has so much to offer, from the world famous Amazon Rainforest to the country’s mystifying Inca ruins. The cities in Peru aren’t to be missed either, Lima, Arequipa and Cusco all have their own unique style and character, as well as plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Merely roaming the cobbled streets of these charismatic cities is an experience in itself.

Over on the west side of Peru why not try your hand at sandboarding down the dunes of Huacachina or take a scenic flight over the intriguing Nazca Lines. To the country’s east, set your sights on the four day Inca Trail to the mighty Machu Picchu or opt to explore Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world! Peru is also home to one of my favourite travel experiences, an unforgettable trek to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), located at a staggering 5200 metres above sea level, the exquisitely coloured landscape stands at the same elevation as Everest Basecamp!

#7 Costa Rican Rainforest Adventure

Costa Rica Rainforest

Costa Rica lies deep in the heart of Central America and boasts an abundance of colourful wildlife, luscious rainforests and impeccable culture. Over 50% of the country is covered entirely by rainforest, allowing the native wildlife and vegetation to continually thrive. In Costa Rica there really is an adventure waiting around each and every corner.

Zipline through beautiful rainforest in the home of the zipline (Yes! The zipline was invented in Costa Rica), experience white water rafting on the wild Costa Rican rivers or sandboard down Cerro Negro Volcano. Believe me, you’ll be spoilt for choice in this vibrant adventure paradise.

#6 Jordan Desert Adventure

Jordan Desert

Jordan is a mystifying and captivating country, nestled right in the heart of the Middle East. Jordan has slowly gained popularity over recent years and it’s clear to see why. Heading out into the desert here gives a sense that you’ve stepped foot on an entirely different planet. Incredibly stunning rock formations and vibrant orange sands dominate the region for as far as the eye can see.

The ancient city of Petra is most certainly one of the main highlights in Jordan, containing tombs and temples dating as far back as 300 BC. The Treasury is the most famed spot in this wonderful archaeological site, boasting insanely intricate carvings and fully mind blowing detail.

Wadi Rum is where the true desert adventure awaits, tear through the desolate plains in a purpose built 4×4 before spending the night camped out under the stars. Once you’re ready to wash off all that sand, take a dip in the world renowned Dead Sea, famous for its ability to easily keep swimmers afloat, a natural marvel made possible by the water’s insanely high concentration of salt.

Vietnam is a culturally vibrant and action packed country, spanning over a whopping 1000 miles in length and boasting utterly spectacular scenery and landscapes from start to finish. Riding a motorbike through this mesmerising country is definitely the best way to truly experience and immerse yourself in the real and authentic Vietnam.

Vietnam’s Ha Giang Loop and Hai Van Pass are two of the most picturesque sections of road on the entire planet, dishing up insane views and adrenaline fuelled turns, there’s no better way to tackle these roads than on two wheels. There’s a ton of places to stop and explore as you traverse the luscious and dense countryside of Vietnam, from Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Hue in the north to Hoi An, Da Lat and Ho Chi Minh in the south.

#4 New Zealand in a Campervan

New Zealand Road Trip

New Zealand is home to a huge number of adventure activities, Queenstown on New Zealand’s South Island is rightfully nicknamed ‘The Adventure Capital of the World’. For many years it’s become more apparent that the best way to travel around New Zealand is by campervan. This style of travel allows visitors to truly get stuck into and properly experience everything this magical country has to offer.

New Zealand is totally geared towards this type of travel, offering an abundance of campsites scattered across the country. It’s also the best way to get up close and personal with the remarkable landscapes and nature of New Zealand. The ferry also makes it super easy to navigate between New Zealand’s North and South islands. The words adventure and New Zealand almost always belong in the same sentence, bunjy jump, sky dive, white water raft, hike, luge, jetboat or fly, whatever type of adventure you’re looking for, New Zealand has them all.

Torres Del Paine Patagonia

Spanning the border of both Chile and Argentina, Patagonia’s impeccable environment boasts some of the most secluded and untouched regions on our planet. The Torres Del Paine National Park has some of the world’s most spectacularly breath-taking views and is an absolute dreamland for all kinds of hiking and trekking enthusiasts.

There are a multitude of different trails available, ranging anywhere from 3-10 days. The ultimate photo opportunity arises at the world famous Torres Towers, the views here are truly sensational. The long hiking days in Patagonia are certainly worthwhile, just be sure to put in a lot of preparation and planning before setting off on your hiking adventure of a lifetime, to help guarantee a stress free trip.

#2 Icelandic Road Trip

Iceland Road Trip

Want to head out on one of the most action-packed road trips in the World? Look no further than the magnificent and mystical Iceland. The first time you step off the plane in Iceland, you’ll be convinced you’ve flown to an entirely different planet. From black sand beaches and iceberg shores to geothermal pools and the dazzling Northern Lights, Iceland truly has it all!

There are so many itinerary options to choose from when visiting Iceland, depending on what kind of time you have available and which locations you’re wanting to check out. One of my personal favourites is the ‘Golden Circle’ route, showcasing three of the most well-known spots in Iceland that are easily accessible from the international airport. Starting with Pingveller National Park, this National Park is truly one of a kind, with incredible landscapes in every direction. Next up is the Geysir Geothermal area, a must see phenomenon when visiting Iceland. Lastly on the Golden Circle route is the ferocious Gullfoss Waterfall, a fierce set of falls handcrafted by Mother Nature.

Iceland is so much bigger than this though, if you have more time, plan to take on the notorious Icelandic Ring Road and spend time in the country’s stunning glaciers and National Parks.
