Hey, I’m Tom, a keen traveller, blogger, beer drinker, and everything in between. I’m originally from the Midlands in England, but these days my heart is well and truly scattered across the globe.
I first found my huge passion for travelling on a round the world backpacking trip back in 2014, which included a year down under in sunny Australia. Since then, I’ve travelled to 65 countries across six continents, spending long periods of time in certain areas, immersing and familiarising myself with different cultures and traditions from all over the world.
Travelling literally means the world to me (ha, see what I did there!), but seriously, throwing a backpack over my shoulder, booking a one way flight and heading out into the big, beautiful world was easily the best decision of my life. Now I want to use my own personal travel knowledge and experience to inspire and motivate others to do the same, I mean who wouldn’t wanna explore every inch of this magnificent planet?!

Why Backpacker Captures?
I genuinely and wholeheartedly believe in capturing incredible moments, whether that’s through a camera lens or witnessed with our own two eyes. Travel dishes up a ton of amazing moments, in an abundance of different ways, often when we least expect it. These moments turn into memories, and it’s those memories that stay with us for the rest of our lives.
Travel is so much more than simply jumping on a plane and laying on a sunny beach somewhere, it’s about the people, the culture, the traditions and the unforgettable experiences. I truly believe that pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and delving deep into a range of unfamiliar surroundings and settings, allows you to not only understand the world better, but also understand yourself better.
I created Backpacker Captures with two main goals in mind, to encourage individuals to chase and pursue their own travel dreams and to assist them in turning those dreams into reality. It’s a huge world out there, just waiting to be explored!
